I am a mother to two healthy children. My daughter is almost 3 and I never breast-fed her and she has always been ahead. (walking at 10 months, talking like a parrot at 1 year and months) and my son is (8 months) and I did it for a month and I was the same uncomfortable and hated it, but I pushed myself, and at 1 month I stopped having milk drop so he's been on formula since and he is just as good! So Honestly breastmilk is the best but now days formula is so close to it that your baby wil be fine. Good Luck with your choice, and remember do what makes you comfortable and happy b/c you don't want the baby sensing your tense or anything!
