You should breastfeed your child, boy or girl, for as long as you are both comfortable. As a child gets older, you can begin to limit the location (only at home) and time (only at night to go to sleep, for example). Weaning should be gentle and at the child's own pace. If you let the child guide you, you will know when it is right to stop nursing.
