Default Re: Stupid Question

I have to say that by the time I had my baby, I saw my body in a very different light.
Picture yourself 40 weeks pregnant, lumbering around, unrecognizably swollen ankles, big boobs and not in the kind of way you wanted them big, nipples the size of tea saucers. Picture yourself giving birth with five or more people in the room, you are naked and don't care. I was always rather shy and found things like breast exams uncomfortable. However, after the process of giving birth, having a kid on a nipple was nothing. Having the lactation consultants prodding and pinching my boobs to get a good latch for my baby did not matter.
I also agree that it really is not about you at that point, but I found that breastfeeding was as good for me as for my baby: faster weight loss, easier night feedings and portability during the day, healthier baby (never got sick until after I stopped breastfeeding).
I am going to do it again with my second. I don't know if I will last as long, but I will try.
