Default glass or plastic bottles?

I am due in September and will definately breast feed first, but when it comes to bottles, does anyone have a preference between glass and plastic? My husband thinks we should use plastic because they have the bent ones that are supposed to be better on baby's stomach and my mother-in-law says to use glass ones because of chemical leakage. How do I sterilize glass bottles? THanks for any help!!!

I am going to breastfeed hopefully, but I didnt even know they had glass bottles! Sounds like a pain, and there are plastics that are safe. There are numbers on the bottom of the bottles that are inside that little recycle circle arrow and based on what the number is determines if it is safe or not. I believe the ones that say 7 or 1 are safe but Im sure you can look it up online too.

You want to get the plastic bottles that say they have no BPA in them, it is right on the front of the package. I don't know if they have the ones that are supposed to be good for the baby's digestion without BPA yet, but I would try to find out.

I am going to breastfeed too (due early August) but I am also going to express and use glass bottles (the bottles that my mum used with me as a baby).

I have tried looking everywhere to buy glass bottles but I can't find anyone that sells them. But lucky for me my mum kept all the ones she used for me. They are only very small intended for newborn use obviously. I think glass is more hygenic than plastic.

I have been bottle feeding for 3 weeks now, and i use glass bottles..
you can use them in the dishwasher, or wash in warm soapy water ...
And you can by them at your local Walmart, or Zellers, the little bottles are less than 3$.

Nowadays a lot of people heat the baby bottles in the microwave. When my youngest was a baby I always heated his bottles in a pan on the stove. We didn't have a microwave at the time anyhow so that was the only way I could do it. I've heard that heating the bottles in the microwave isn't really recommended because the formula could heat unevenly. I'm still undecided on what to do. Then there are those warnings about heating plastics in the microwave because they have found that it lets off some type of cancer causing chemical. Are there certain types of plastics that are safe to heat in the microwave?

My mother use to heat formula up in the microwave, she had twins, so it was easier for her. But i still find using the stovetop method safer.. so what if its time consuming, at least it keeps me confidant that my child is safe from any sort of problems with the plastics...

Babies R Us has glass bottles.

And also BPA free.

I am going to get the bpa free ones even though I won't be heating up the baby's milk.

We did end up getting a set of the 4oz Evenflo glass bottles from Babies R' Us. I feel safer using the glass bottles.
