Default Breast lump

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and have a very large lump in my right breast. It started small around 8 weeks and has since grown tremendously. I had an ultrasound at 22 weeks for it and it was under 2 cm, then at 26 weeks it was over 5 cm. They then rushed me into the hospital and did a core biopsy and found it to be negative for cancer and said they don't know for sure what it is because it is hard to read a pathology of a pregnant woman, but it is hormone fed, and as long as i'm pregnant it will continue to grow at this rapid rate. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I'm hoping to avoid surgery before delivery because there is a chance they say it will go away after my hormones settle, and i am a very determined breast feeding mother and want to give this baby the breast as well. If i do have to have surgery the damage may prohibit me from breast feeding. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

sounds like it could be a fibroadenoma. I don't know about the hormonally fed bit but they're the most common benign tumor of the breast. I had one that got the size of a small egg that I had removed years ago - they can get pretty big but shouldn't be a problem regardless of the size as long as it doesn't bother you. Voice your concerns with your doc. It may be a wait-and-see kind of situation but it's nice to know what your doc is thinking so you're up to snuff on the plan of action.

If you get it removed it's not a major surgery. You're in and out in no time flat. The downside is you want to sleep the rest of the day from the anesthetic.

Or it could be an enlarged lymphnode. They tend to go hand-in-hand with fibroadenomas.

It migt be beause of the hormones. Do ntot worry because they tend to disaaper after pregnancy. Focus on your health and leave the thing on its own.
