For the baby to gain all the benefit s/he needs then two years would be the ideal length of time.

Probably about a year or less. I went about ten months. It depends alot on how much solid food and it may also depend on Teeth. You will know, but I think two years is too long. You would not let a child have a bottle that long, same goes for breast. Good luck and happy bonding
