Default is it ok to recycle glass baby food jars, also, what about the lids?

i feel terrible throwing away the jars. Im hoping I can either recycle for a few extra cents, or maybe freecycle them.....Either way I dont want to throw away in the trash......

I bet freecycle would have someone who would use them I used to use them for crafts when I sat for others kids also they are good for organizing small items!!
