With me it has been 2 years since i breastfed last and I leak a little when my 2 1/2 year old cries. We just have triggers. Some woman leak for a long time afterwards since it can be triggered by hormones.

It's normal. Try not to stimulate. Warm or hot baths Stimulate, avoid them as much as possible (haha yeah I know) Sudafed helps dry up faster also.

I bottle fed my 15 month old son, and I STILL can express milk. I'm starting to wonder if it is ever going to go away. They say to leave it alone and don't do anything that may stimulate it, but I won't try it for months and then when I do - SURPRISE! - it's still there.....

Hi
I am still leaking and it has been just over a year since I stopped it only happens once in a while and totally catches me of guard. It depends on the person as to when you will stop leaking. Wear breast pads if it is still a lot and don't pump unless you are really uncomfortable otherwise the milk will never stop!!
If you go see you doctor he may be able to recommend some herbs or prescribe a drug to help dry up your milk.

Good luck and be proud some mom's can't make their milk last long enough!!!

i haven't nursed for almost a heay now and i still do that. (well not like you are talking) but i do still leak every once in a while. it is normal and you shouldn't get an infection from it.

I was like this more than 2 years after my 1st son. I asked the Doc about it & he said it can be completely normal & not to worry about it! If it really is bothering you the Doc can give you something to dry it up. I never took anything but it eventually went away on it's own!
Good luck!!!
