Is there an age that breast feeding would be considered illegal?
I recently saw a mother breastfeeding her son - who seriously had to be about 5. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for breastfeeding, but at what age would it start to become inappropriate or even illegal?
how could she? a woman's milk usually runs out by the time her kid is 3 yrs old. when children get to be 5, they start getting "curious", and having their mom show them her boobs everyday isn't that great of idea.

i agree it has to be illegal a 5 yr old is at that age where they know the differance between boy an girl and thats crazy to still be breast feeding a 5 yr old

I don't agree with breastfeeding past a year and most doctors DO NOT recommend it because of the social and teeth development issues it can cause but no, it's not illegal. No one can tell you when you have to stop breastfeeding. It's your individual right. I do think it's a little unfair for you to assume that the child was 5. He could have just been big for his age. The thing I would have been even more outraged about is the breastfeeding in public places and not even discreetly. That drives me crazy!

As long as you keep breastfeeding you will produce milk. It doesn't just dry up after a certain time. I think it's disgusting that a woman would breast feed a child that is 5 years old. I don't agree with doing it past a year.

My friend just went to her 15 month appointment for her daughter and the Dr said that the baby isnt getting anymore nutritional value from nursing. Its still hard for her to stop. This will prob be her only baby. But 15 months and 5 years is a big difference!
