I'm not asking when its the right time, I'm asking when you started it , becouse i know alot of people start early and some late.. when was it for you? (and by baby food i mean like bananas,pears,sweet pot. That sort of thing, in the little jar.lol...

My boys started baby food around 6mths of age. Before then I fed them pablum, with fruits.

5 months old

My Son Was 3 Mths.(now 5.5) I Started W/ Applesauce.and A Lttle Cereal In His Bottle.

I started my son and my daughter at about 5.5 months old. They didn't start eating too much until about 8 months old though. My son HATED all vegetables or "meals" of baby food. he liked the fruits and he'd eat cereal if it was mixed with fruit. I didn't like only feeding him fruit (I wasted a lot of baby food that he wouldn't eat on him) so when he was 8 mos old and could eat finger food I quit buying baby food.































Some people start later due to possible allergies, and plus some babies don't really want to eat any solid foods. Some people start at 4 mos which is the "minimum" age they recommend, but I don't think it's good to stress the baby's digestive system by introducing it that young. I probably would've waited even later to start if my kids weren't throwing tantrums about wanting to try food too.

I have 2 boys and they seemed to be hungry children. I started both of them earlier than the recommended age. One of them at 3 months the other at 3 1/2 months. They both did pretty good besides the tongue thrusts. They just have to get used to the feeling of having a spoon and food in their mouths. I worked 4yrs with a pediatric doctor who recommends 6 months? I personally think it is up to you and your child.

My kids were eight and a half months old when they had their first babyfood. My first was a preemie and she did fine at that age with fruit etc. My second had some allergies at the same age and couldn't tolerate simple foods like fruit and vegetables. My third was different and started early at seven months. She seemed to do just fine. I really think it depends on the baby.
