I cannot answerf or definate but apparently it doesnt affect your breasfeeding ability at all.

Alot of women have problems with it anyway, so even if you do it may not nessesarily be because of the piercing.

yes there should be no problem. i had my nipple pierced a about 7 years ago and then took it out a couple of years later. I have breast fed both my sons absolutely no probs. well done for wanting to give breastfeeding a go it is hard work but if you stick with it you'll be glad you did. good luck

You can breastfed with pierced nipples, so I don't see why this would be any different. Also with breast surgery they generally say it takes 18 months for the milk ducts to heal so you should be in the clear.

And aside from all that you can nurse with only one breast, women have breastfed after having one breast removed, there are also women born without milk glads in one breast. And of course women have successfully nursed twins and triplets.

Body Piercing

There is no evidence that nipple piercing (or other body piercing) affects breastfeeding. Some professional piercers recommend against getting a new nipple piercing while breastfeeding. Be sure to observe safety procedures and choose a reputable piercer, to help protect against diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. You should be able to breast feed once the hole from the piercing has heeled up. It's probably not a good idea to breast feed before as it will be very painful, but it's up to you, try it and see!
