Default Breastfeeding in public places? Do you think there should be a law for it?

I was wondering, being a mother I did not or do not plan on breastfeeding but I'm in FULL SUPPORT for women to be able to breast feed whenever or whereever they want or need....Personally I think that a mother has to carry enough things when having to go to the grocery store or wherever and having to add a breast pump or cooler for previouslly pumped milk is just too much when you have everything you need right on your body....I dont think that a business should be allowed to refuse service to a breastfeeding women, what is the mother spouse to let her child starve? Granted it should be covered but you also have to think about the baby being able to breathe, expecially in the hot months....being in Hawaii I have noticed that businesses are more open to a women being free. Sorry about the ramble but my question would be should every state have a law that MUST allow any breastfeeding women do what they need to nouirush their child?
THERE ARE MANY places that in the US that will refuse service if you are breastfeeding while in there business...thats what i'm talking about!

Are there really still states that don't have a law in place protecting breastfeeding mothers? So many law suits have been filed on behalf of breastfeeding mothers that I can't imagine why anyone would take the risk of discriminating against one, anymore. And it IS discrimination; that's what breasts are for. And if a guy can walk around in public without a shirt on, nobody's going to tell me that my child can't eat in public because someone *might* see a brief flash of skin. In other countries, people think NOTHING of a woman exposing her breast to feed her child. It's worse than prudishness to get offended over a woman breastfeeding.

Of course you should be able to breastfeed anywhere anytime...I got some flack from strangers at the mall once when I was feeding my oldest and couldn't get over their ignorance.
Nalllz: up until recently, not all states had laws protecting breastfeeding mothers...

My child is breastfed and I think and feel wherever and whenever your our child is hungry you should be able to breastfeed. What does other kids and adults do when they are hungry, thirsty they drink and eat in public. So no matter who you are you should beable to feed your child in public. So to all the mothers out there that have the power to breastfeed there babies in public all the power to you.

I think it's sad that we have to have laws to protect a mother's right to feed her baby. I also think it's sad that people think it's gross and discusting to see a mother feed her baby and ridicule her and belittle her and make her feel like she's commited a crime, but yet I have to watch a morbidly obese man slop down a whopper, super sized fries and a gallon of soda and "that's ok" because it might hurt HIS feelings to know he's fat. Why is it ok for him to get to eat in the restaurant but not my baby???

There are many state laws establishing the rights of nursing mothers... covered or not. I sure don't cover up with a blanket but if someone is offended with my little bit of skin showing... well I hope they can get over it because I am a lot more worried about my baby!

A mother should be able to feed her child wherever and whenever needed-period! I was only able to BF for about 5mos, but I was not about to feed my baby in bathroom stalls or fitting rooms! Many people freak out about peeing in public bathrooms, yet they would suggest that I feed my child in one! The way I see it, if you don't care to see me nourishing my child (and I'm not burying my baby's head in a blanket either!) then DON"T LOOK! It's that simple.

i think they should have breastfeeding stations at malls so that mothers don't have to go into the dirty germ infested bathrooms to nurse. A breastfeeding station could be a small room with tinted windows so people can't see in with a nice couch and some pillows to make nursing comfortable and natural. i was told to leave a mall when i nursed my son in public, and have since been working hard on my plan to get nursing stations put into malls.
