Default First Sonogram On The 18th

My first trimester ends on the 28th, the day of my first sonogram. I haven't had any test of anything yet.

The place I'm going to only gives you one free sonogram and it could takes a month or more for state aid to kick in.

How often do most women get sonograms and tests?

Edit: My sonogram is on the 28th, I made a typo in the title.

For me, my ultrasounds are covered by my insurance but they will only cover two unless additional ones are necessary due to a defect or problem with the baby. My first one was at 7 weeks, to give me a due date and confirm how far along I was and that it was a viable pregnancy and my second was yesterday, the typical "finding out the gender" one (but we didn't find out!) and I am 21 weeks and 3 days. At this one, besides being able to find out gender, they check for any noticeable birth defects, check the size of organs, and the baby and make sure that everything is on track. I don't suspect I will have another one. They will still do the heart monitor at every appointment though.

With my first two kids I had two ultraounds each. I had my first one with this pregnancy on Wednesday. I was supposed to be about 11 1/2 weeks and they were only doing it so early so that they could confirm my due date since I have irregular periods. Anyhow I was told that I was actually 10 weeks and 2 days. I have to go back on the 17th for a second ultrasound because they couldn't take the measurements that they wanted to because I wasn't as far along as they thought I was. I know they will do at least one more later on in the pregnancy.

I forgot to mention, besides ultrasounds, I had an initial HIV and Blood type blood draws at my second appointment. Then between weeks 10-13 I had a two part blood test to test for downs and other chromosomal problems. My next blood test will be 25 weeks for blood sugar to test for gestational diabetes.
