I've never heard that ultrasounds are harmful to an embryo early on. In fact, I've heard the exact opposite, that they have been proven to not be harmful. If you're positive you are 5 weeks along, I would wait a few more weeks before going in to get a due date because 5 weeks is too early usually to see anything or to get an accurate date.

hi tanks 4 da advice.but its my doctor that wants me to go that early....she said if i go any later that it will mess up the date 4 her

they may not be able to see anything...but if you know your ovulation and LMP dates, you can find a calculator online...i found one, and my midwife only put my date like 5 days before i thought it would be, but it was still extremely close to the one i got online

u/s's are not harmful at all.....but my dr won't even do one until i'm 15 weeks, so i have to wait 2 more weeks...not hard for me just found out 2 wks ago i'm expecting lol, but i'm like 3 days shy of 13 weeks!
