Actually, since they add on two weeks to your gestational age there are actually considered to be 6 not 4 weeks in your first month and then 4 weeks in each month after. So you'll be more like 3 months and 1 week at your appointment...just a little confusing tid bit I thought you'd like to know. Anyways, as far as vitamins go I take Nature Made Pre Natal Multivitamin and mineral supplement. You can pick anyone you want really just make sure it doesn't contain anything artificial, like colors or preservatives and that it has minerals and is high in iron and folic acid and contains all the vitamins you would need in a day. Something that helped me as far as the right amount of each vitamin/mineral and nutritional/dietary questions, I picked up this book:
Amazon.com: Pregnancy Do's and Don'ts: The Smart Woman's A-Z Pocket Companion for a Safe and Sound Pregnancy: Elisabeth Dr Aron: Books
As far as diet goes, limit caffeine (from ALL sources) to the equivalent of 3 regular size cups of coffee a day, try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and eat more frequent and smaller meals (this is said to help with vomiting/nausea but I'm not sure if it works for everyone). I also recommend reading:
Amazon.com: The BabyCenter Essential Guide to Pregnancy and Birth: Expert Advice and Real-World Wisdom from the Top Pregnancy and Parenting Resource: Linda J. Murray,Editors of BabyCenter,Jim Scott,Leah Hennen: Books
Good luck!

Are they refusing to see you until you are 11 weeks? When I called to get the results of my blood test they set up an appointment right then for me and it was for the following week. I was about 8 weeks at the time. I guess all doctors do things differently but you would think they would want to see you now.

If you aren't already taking a prenatal vitamin you will want to do that. You can get them over the counter at Walmart and most pharmacies. It's very important to take folic acid. It prevents birth defects. Prenantal vitamins already contain them so you don't have to worry about taking an extra pill. I didn't get a prescription for prenatal vitamins until I was actually pregnant but I've heard that some doctors will give them to you if they know you are trying to conceive.

I try to avoid caffeine all together. I was never a coffee drinker so stopping coffee was not a problem. If I do drink soda which isn't very often I drink Sprite or another caffeine free type soda. I have had problems with acid reflux for years now so there are certain things I'm supposed to avoid and coffee, tea (of any kind) and chocolate are some of the things on the lists of foods that you shouldn't consume if you have acid reflux. If you drink herbal tea there are certain ones that they tell you not to drink while you're pregnant. Unfortunately I can't tell you what those are as I avoid tea all together.

You shouldn't take any medications except for Tylenol. I suffered through my first trimester with bad acid reflux because they didn't even want me to take medication for that. I was taking Prilosec but they switched me to Zantac as that one is safer and I had to wait until I was 12 weeks before I could take it.

Good luck with your pregnancy.
