Has anyone ever had negative urine pregnacy test and then take a blood test and it come back positive. I took a blood test yesterday and I am waiting for my doctor to call me back with the results. I am anxious to find out and this waiting is KILLING me. I was just wondering how common this is and if it has happend to anyone else on this site?

im not sure, but i think it happens a lot. i just took a hpt and it was negative but i defnitly have all the symptoms so i need to make a doctors appt to. good luck tho!

I am 8 days late. I have never been late in my LIFE!!! it's very odd! My breast are sore.. but I have semi new breast implants so it's hard to say if they are going through another changing stage or not. My husband just got back from Iraq 2 months ago.. and they say IRAQI sperm is strong.. I just don't know. We aren't "Trying" persay, but were not preventing. WE will be happy either way. But this not knowing is making me get excited.. I would love to be a mommy right now. But I keep telling myself that I am probably not. I don't know anyone who got a negative urine test and was still pregnant, but my doctor said it could happen. I have some discharge that is white and I have cramping, but not period cramping..similar, but not NEAR as strong. 2 weeks ago I was constanly going pee, I have had a few headaches lately, and am also very tired. But this could all be a many of different things.. UGH!! I can't wait tell the doctor calls me! But, I have to go in to find out the results, and I work all morning tomorrow and strait from there we are going to the military ball..soooo I will have to wait tell Monday at the soonest!!! THIS SUCKS!!!

Depending on the lab it could take a week. and your doctor may only call you if its positive, don't be worried though. Your first urine test may have been too early to detect the hormone it checks for. Be patient, and if you can't be patient, pee on that stick again. I took 3 tests before I got postivive result (1st positive result was 8 days after missed period), before that nada... but i kinda knew i was anyhow.

thanks. I haven't done a hpt since I was 7 days late. And that was the same day the doctor did her test. I am now 11 days late I believe so I am gonna test again. Probably tonight because I don't think I can wait until morning. I am really starting to get the feeling I am.. I hope so.. I am excited!

I do not know how common it is, but I wanted to tell you the same thing is happening to me right now. It made me feel better to know i wasn't alone, so I thought I would let you know that you aren't either.

I havent personally, but I think it is fairly common. I have heard of a lot of women getting negative hpt and positive blood tests. Hope you hear soon, Im sure its driving you crazy! let us know

False negatives on a PT are VERY common. I had one and the blood test came back positive. That is why they ALWAYS want you to have a blood test because those are the most accurate. The thing that puzzles me is you having to wait so long for your blood work! I was notified 10 or so minutes later after I took the blood test the results....
