Question pregnancy and pets

I have a 17 yr old daughter that cleans a dog kennel with about 30 dogs in it on a daily basis. Is this safe to do?

Yea! I have 2 dogs and cat ... totally safe to be around while pregnant. Only thing I've heard is you're not supposed to change cat little while preg... but otherwise I think all else is well!

We have three indoor cats and my OB said it's pefectly fine for me to clean the litter boxes. She said that it's mostly outdoor cats that are a concern because that is how they come in contact with the toxoplasmosis. She also said that if one of our cats had come in contact with it at some point that I would be immuned to it by now since we've had the cats for a long time.

That's interesting.....never knew that.

I have an indoor cat and when I clean her box I put a mask on and be sure to wash my hands real well afterwards. I always thought toxoplasmosis was already carried in cats; in their poop.

Yes it is. Indoor/outdoor doesn't matter. I had to clean my sister's cat box for 8 months But you can still do it if you wear a mask and use hand sanitizer afterwards.

Hand sanitizer? lol I'll use old fashioned soap and water = ) Hand sanitizer has been proven to not work as effectively as everyone says it does.

Hand sanitizer kind of creeps me out a little bit! But I still use it from time to time.
