Okay, so I'm new to the forum so hello everyone! We're expecting a baby boy close to Thanksgiving and I had my baby shower this morning. I was surprised that there were so many people that didn't even look at our registry but almost everything was really nice but... did we have to play games?

I got the diaper bag I was hoping for as this was the last big thing I wanted as my husband and I pretty much already have the big ticket items. One of my girlfriends gave us a book that I wish I had had months ago, or wish my husband had had. I started reading it there and everyone was laughing by the end, I tried to look for it online but couldn't find it anywhere. The title is "Stupid Things You Should Never Say to Pregnant Women" by Johnathan Burton. If someone knows where I can get another copy, let me know as this will be my new congratulations gift for friends. If you can find it, get it! My favorite "stupid comment" was "I'm getting tired of you peeing all the time". OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I hope to make some new friends here and hope everyone is doing well in this swollen feet process.

Oh my goodness. I would LOVE to have that book for my partner. Sometimes he just says some of the most insensitive things and then is like, "WHAT?????"

dont worry... it seems to be pretty common for people to not pay attention to the registry at all!! Same thing happened for me

Yeah, I think people get so excited to buy baby stuff, they forget all about a list, LOL! I like getting a mix of things I really wanted and surprises I have never seen before too. Good luck with your baby

Sounds like a great book, I think I could probably add a few things to it! I found a few copies on Amazon.com, although no used copies (which always saves money!). I am due on Sept 27th and had 2 baby showers. Got some things off the registry, but the good news is most of the stores will give you a percentage off of whatever is left on your registry that you didn't get after the baby is born. I also got TONS of small clothes and may take some back and get larger sizes. I mean, they aren't tiny for too long!

That sounds like a great book! My husband just said to me, "all of a sudden pregnancy isnt cute or cool anymore it repulses me"! Its like, wtf, thanks a lot! And he's now all of a sudden nervous and grossed out about the upcoming delivery! OMG, ugh.
