Default Symptoms too early? Too many symptoms?

Hello..

My GF and I just started dating 2 weeks ago, actually 2 weeks and 1 day ago (August 21st, conception not until 23rd) and for the last 3 days has been complaining of cramps, headaches, sore breasts, nausea (and has been throwing up sometimes 3 times a day), and says she feels 'different', frequent urination, today at dinner in a restaurant smells were bothering her to the point of being sick. She was supposed to have her period a few days ago, and until today she had some light spotting. It was pretty infrequent throughout the day, one minute there, the next not.. and then a few hours later it was happening again. I'm kinda thinking these are TOO many symptoms, but then again i'm no expert when it comes to this kinda thing. It also seems a little early for some of these symptoms, or is it possible that after pretty well a week and a half, they can all show up like this? Or is this something that possibly could have happened before we met, and she was already pregnant before we started dating? I think the plan is, middle of next week we are going to try a home pregnancy test. If the test comes up positive, when is it a good time for us to visit the Doctor to confirm it? And can the doctor tell her how far along she is, and when the baby was conceived?

Thanks for the info...

Mike

Sounds like she has the symptons, but there is no way to know for sure until she takes a test. Each doctor is different on when they like to see you for the first time. Mine waits until at least 8 weeks, so she should call once she has a positive test to see what they prefer. Every pregnancy is different, so it's possible she has early symptons. The doctor will be able to assist on how far a long she is, but they won't know the date of conception. Hope this helps. Good luck.

A woman ovulates approximately midway between her periods, so two weeks before she was due to have hers would be about right for conception. Symptoms begin as the hormones change starting from the time the fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine lining about a week after conception.
A doctor can do an ultrasound and take measurements. This will give him/her a general idea of how far along the pregnancy is. It is not exact and will not tell you the exact day of conception. Nor will it tell you the exact due date.
Good luck, and I hope that however it turns out you will continue to be supportive of your girlfriend.
