Question Prenatal tests

Has anybody ever ordered prenatal tests online? I have found a site that has prenatal tests at significantly discounted prices. I don't currently have insurance, and need to find a way to cut my costs down as much as possible at the same time keeping baby safe.

Thanks

Lisa

You should consult your doctor about discounts available to you if you don't have insurance. I know my doctor's office offers a discount automatically if women don't have insurance. It might not be much, but it's still something. You could ask for a payment plan. I would definitely discuss it with your doctor/doctor's office before you decide not to seek the advice of your doctor. It's important to have prenatal care from your dr/midwife. Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

Thank you for your fast reply! Everybody seems very nice on this forum. I have found a website Discount Laboratory Testing Online|STD Tests,Blood Tests And More! that carries prenatal tests. If I buy tests through this website I should be able to take the results to my doctor? I will be talking to my doctor about this as well but thought to post here to see if anybody else has tried a service like this to save money.

Thanks!

Lisa

my guess is if you self test and show the doctor he is still going to redo the tests. i don't know what kind of testing the website offers but this seems a little sketchy to me and i don't think it will save you money in the long run.

If you are in the US you should check into Medicaid.

Thumbs up Re: Prenatal tests

Well, I went ahead ordered through PrePaidlab and had a pleasant experience. Their customer service was great. I just wanted to follow up with everybody on this.

Thank you,

Lisa
