I am having trouble narrowing down a date for my baby shower. I am due March 7, and I thought that January might be nice. I am having trouble getting my mother and mother-in-law to agree on a day, and I absolutely do not want two showers.
My mother makes the point that if I have it on a Sunday during football playoff season (January), none of my relatives would come (big football fans across the board). My mother-in-law and sister-in-law both work on Saturdays and cannot get out of work. During the week isn't an option because I work until 8pm.
After the Superbowl (Feb 1) is too close to my due date (I might be on bed rest, preterm labor).
Is it possible to have it in December? Is that too early? Is it too close to the holidays? On December 7 (Sunday) out local football team does not play until 4pm- I could have it at noon. I worry because that is only two months away.
I really don't need this stress right now- but I have to come up with a solution soon! Any thoughts?
I'm Due March 8! I'm having mine January 4th or 5th. I haven't decided what one sounds better yet. I don't want to do it to late because I don't wanna wait to buy everything but if i buy it all I'll end up with doubles of everything and that's no fun..
Baby showers are hard to do.
I would tell your mother in law that you're doing it on a Saturday and if she can't take off work to be there, then oh well!
Saturdays are much better for people and I think it would be better to do it in in mid/late January that way the holidays are over and it gives people time to recuperate from all the spending they did during the holidays.
I'm due in November and we had my shower in August!
Its your shower, I say do what you want!
My mom is throwing me one back home in 2 weeks, and then I'm having another here with my friends before thanksgiving. I'm due in January.
It's a party for you and your baby. Don't stress
Toughie! Baby showers are so hard to plan. I had to have my baby shower on a bi week for college football. How terrible! You didn't mention if you were just going to have a coed baby shower. Honestly, invite the gals, and host the shower for brunch on a Sunday... If they can't come, they can always find a nice gift on the registry!
