Did they schedule you for another ultrasound? It MAY be too early to see the heartbeat, usually can be seen by 7 weeks via ultrasound.

Keep us posted!!

I had an US yesterday at 6 weeks 4 days and was able to see the heartbeat, but I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

I read somewhere that depending on your body size and type you can have a harder time hearing the heartbeat. It said that muscular women have a harder time because there is more getting in the way of them hearing it.

I don't know if that's a factor for you, but that's what I had read.

Be patient though, my mom's friend in high school had that same problem and she refused to believe that her baby was gone. 4 weeks later, they found a very strong heartbeat.

Good luck!!

By 6.5 weeks you should see a heart beat. As a general rule the heart should be beating by 6 weeks. It often starts at 5w4d-5w6d. If they did a vaginal ultrasound then the information is probably accurate. I hope they are mistaken though. Good luck.

My 1st US there was no HB either. Only a gestational sac. The Dr. had me come back in a couple weeks and we saw one then. Hope it goes the same for you - I too was worried. Best of luck.

Same thing happened to us on Monday. They did find a fetal pole. It measured 3.8mm and it was 6 weeks 1 day. We go back on Monday for another u/s. My wife is happy a little worried. I'm the one stressing out big time. We've been trying for for a few years and just stopped using fertility pills. Funny thing is is that we talked to our Doc on Oct 7th, and mentioned maybe we should look in to ivf.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the same exact scenario happened to me at 6 weeks with my first pregnancy and it ended in a miscarriage. I had a blighted ovum where the fetus never formed. There was a sac and yolk that looked like a fetus, but there was no heartbeat. I went back two more times, and no heartbeat. I hope and pray this is not happing to you. But if it does, know that in some twisted way, it is meant to be.
