Hubby and I are ttc.I have not been able to fall alseep at night whcih is causing me to be VERY tired throughout the day and very cranky. i do not want to take anything now while i still don't know that could possibly hurt the baby if i am preggers. Does anyone know of any sleeping pills i can take that are safe?

I'd recommend Unisome, the regular kind with Doxylamine. I had to take it for the first 5 months of my pregnancies with B5 to stop throwing up. Both midwife, and my high risk ob said it was fine. So if I could take unisome 3-4 times a day for months while preggo, I"m sure you'll be ok while ttc

I didnt even know that any pill was safe . The only medication my doctor gave me the permission to take throughout my pregnancy is extra strong tylenol . Let''s say that I would have liked to know about those sleeping pills the in the 2 weeks that just passed . I was having lasting severe back pain , so much that they were going to induce me this monday ( I was at 39 weeks and 5 days ) ... but they ended up going away so I asked if I could just wait until it comes naturaly ( as long as those pains dont come back xD )

I have severe insomnia that I have been dealing with for almost 20 years. I think whether or not you resort to sleeping pills depends on how severe the insomnia is. I will go for nearly a week without sleeping when I am not on meds, to the point where I am hallucinating. I am on Ambien right now, which my doctor says is safer than my pre-pregnancy meds and worth being on since my insomnia is so severe.

Even with the Ambien I have trouble sleeping though, and one thing that has helped was getting a pregnancy pillow. Do you have one? They are worth the investment.
