Default Insomnia

Okay girlies,
Its 5 am and I am awake. I have been since 3.
I haven't slept in over 6 nights. I am tossing and turning all night and I don't really know what to do. My pillow is uncomfortable, so I switched. It felt better. My sciatica hurts so I put a pillow between my legs. Okay better. Then I have to pee. Then I am thirsty. Then my dog has to go out to pee. I lay down again and my brain races around like I am going crazy while my little boy playfully kicks my ribs and punches my bladder. Then I leave the bedroom and watch tv or go on the computer until I have to shower and start my day.
Same story every night.
I tried taking a warm bath, drinking a sip or two of wine, playing video games until my eyes are burning, even making my husband have sex with me until I am tired. It all works until around 3 am when I wake up.
I am beginning to look like night of the living dead with the dark circles under my eyes.
I am 24 weeks at this point.
I know it gets worse when the baby is born, but come on!
I think I just have so much on my mind- and I can't get my brain to stop thinking so that I can go back to sleep! Other than knocking me unconscious with a frying pan at 3 am, how can I get my mind to stop racing with all of mine and the world's problems all night?

For me I go to bed with the laptop so that when I do wake up at ridiculous times, I click on this site where I watch television and movies for free. That takes my mind off everything and I fall asleep everytime I try and watch something.

I experience the same thing except I'm full term....I never experienced that at 24 weeks. Usually, though, I would wake up around 230-300 and be up for up to 2 hours. I would usually get on the internet until I was bored or watch TV. I could finally get back to sleep around 4 but then I would have to be up 2 hours later. Funny thing was, I was pretty functional the next day.

I think it's a good idea to have your laptop next to you (if you have one) and to watch tv and movies. Hopefully, this will pass soon for you.

I am 6 weeks along, and have been fighting insomnia for the past two weeks! I have yet to sleep through the entire night without having to change positions or pee a hundred times a night! I refuse to take anything for it, as I am being very cautious with this pregnancy. I have had one miscarriage, due to a blighted ovum( the fetus did not form) March 2007, so I am taking no chances.
