Two female dogs pregnant/false pregnant at the same time, what should we do?
We currently have two pitbulls that might be pregnant. They are sisters that went in heat at the same time, now they are both displaying signs of pregnancy. While we never saw any stray males around the house and we never saw them get out of their enclosure, there is still a chance that they might have gotten out and came back in [ they are crazy clever like that ] during one of the many long stretches of time that we are not there. There is also a slight chance that they somehow managed to mate with their intact brother. So basicallly I have three questions:
1. What is the window of time for a vet to conclude that they are indeed preggers and abort the litter[incase they are inbred]?
2. If they are pregnant and their owner decides not/doesn't have enough money to abort them, should we seperate them, and if so- for how long? Will they try to harm or take over the other's puppies?
3. Can you think of any good, nonjudgmental ways to convince their owner to alter these PITBULLS?
