Default I had a c section with my last baby because she was quite big and now?

Im expecting again and they tell me that the reason for my first c section was because my pelvis is shallow...the bones are too narrow too give birth properly...anyone got any experience of this?

I hate to say it, but I have a small tilted uterus and I have not been able to give birth naturally. I am almost 6 foot and have a very large bone structure so I was qutie shocked to find out I cant give birth to even an average sized baby.
I have had 5 c-sections and my smallest baby was 7 pds 8 with a 15 inch head (big heads!!) my largest was 10 pds 11 with a 16.5 inch head.

It wouldnt hurt to get a second opinion, but at the end of the day you still have the choice to try for a natural birth, I personally decided it wasnt worth the risk of trying for a natural birth to have my babies head or shoulders get stuck during labour so I opted for a c-section (first was breech) wiht the second I tried for a vaginal birth (he was the 10 pd 11 heffalump) and when that labour failed, they did an xray with my 3rd and told me the chances of me ever giving birth to a baby over 7 lbs was very slim.

Although I was disapointed having had 5 c-sections and never given birth naturally, I look at my wonderful children and I wouldnt change a thing. they were all worth it. and my c-sections were pretty nice considering! (each one gets easier as you knwo what to expect)

goodluck

I was diagnosed with a narrow and shallow pelvis after the induction of my baby... who was stuck by the shoulders on my pelvic bone; I ended having an emergency c- section It was quite surprising as I am 5'7" and not very skinny...
Afterwards the midwife told me that I could try to give birth naturally, (with the next baby, I mean) as the bones wil lloose themselves a bit, but it was very likely that I will end up with another c- section.
She also told me that I could see an osteopath (a bone doctor?) but have not done it yet. By just my experience I know that my next time will also be a c-section; I dont want to go through that pain again, and I wouldn't want to stres the baby either

Here are some resources. You can find your local ICAN group and they will have lots of info on this subject. My baby was 11 lbs and I had him vaginally, next baby went to different hosp and they panicked cause of first babies size and rushed me in for c/section, he was 8.6. Find out as much as you can. These web sites can point you in the right direction. I would at least get a second opinion. Some Dr's just prefer to do a repeat c/section. So look around. I had to call about 10 offices to find one that would do a trial of labor with my 3rd. She was 11 lbs also, I labored for 14 hrs, wasn't dilating and they shouldn't induce your labor after c/section so I had another. Baby was facing wrong way anyways but it was worth a try.
