Default Is back pain in the first trimester always a sign of miscarriage?

According to what i calculated i would be 5 weeks today. As of saturday i started having a backache. My home pregnancy test said positive last thursday. I go pee alot and i am a little constipated but other than that i dont feel like i am pregnant. I threw up with my last one. My back doesnt hurt bad but i know it is there. I have no bleeding and no abdominal cramps. Could backache be from a uti? Please help! I am really scared because I had to have a D&C in april 07 because the baby passed away at eight weeks and still didnt pass at 10 weeks. But I didnt have a backache then. I have an appointment but it is not for two weeks.

Back pain can be from many things. It is not always a sign of miscarriage. A worse sign would be bleeding or cramping...not the back pain. You are more correct to think of a UTI. I understand your concern since you had a loss the last time. Call your doctor, let them know. Rest, drink fluids and see if it improves.

Best wishes, Sophie

Talk to the Dr. You most likely have or are developing a pinched nerve in your back.... Sciatica..... But not limited to this....

I've been doing a lot of research on pregnancy symptoms lately. Back pain is a common early pregnancy symptom. I guess the hormones in your body cause your back to not be as strong as normal, leading to more pressure on your lower back and causing pain. (See Back Pain during Pregnancy : American Pregnancy Association)

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Ditto to what Happy Girl said. 38 weeks pregnant now, and my back killed me all through my first trimester. Still does, if we're being honest. Hopefully your pain subsides

This thread was started last September so the OP has already had her baby. I'm not sure why people go around and bump really old threads but I guess if the info helps someone else then it's okay.

Backache is not due to Miscarriage, It b'coz ur Uterus is expanding ..Severe Backpain is due to Ectopic pregnancy...Some women do experiance backache early if they have tilted uterus which is 1 out 5 women have..
Do not worry..Pray to god and take good rest..Good luck to you...
