Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
Im almost 21 weeks, Ill be 21 weeks tomorrow. I bought a nasal irrigation kit, its a mixture of baking soda and salt with water that you squirt up your nose twice a day, it goes in one side and comes out the other. Sounds terrible but it isnt too bad. My nose has been less clogged since I started using it, last night was the first night I didnt have to get up and use afrin or blow my nose! woohoo. Still having to use afrin a couple times a day but not nearly as untolerable as it was. Baby is starting to get a stronger kick now, and seems to wake up a lot at night. My energy has been pretty good lately but I am really tired today for some reason. Had my third progesterone shot Sunday, it hurt again and stayed soar for a few days. I got a pack n play with bassinet and changing table on it, and a boppy vibrating seat. So I am slowly collecting things! A friend of the family is going to give us a crib and changing table so that will be great. My next dr visit is next thursday at 22 weeks, and I am really looking forward to my study visit June 2nd so I can get some more ultrasound pictures and they have the 3D so that will be really cool! My mood is a little better today, not feeling as down so thats good!

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
I've noticed you've mentioned afrin a lot... i was told that afrin is highly addictive and that if you use it more than a few times that your sinus passages could become Dependant on it and im wondering if that might have anything to do with why you are still clogged? Maybe you should try using an alternate method and stop using afrin?

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
yea I know, it could be I guess. I guess it could be why, I had to use it a lot for a while with my last pregnancy and never had any complications with it. What happens is your nose ends up having like a rebound swelling so to speak from it so it makes you have to keep using it. I dont know, it could be I just dont know what else to do and I cant live with my nose clogged shut I feel like Im suffocating!
On another note, I am feeling depressed again today. Just a million things adding up I guess. My 10 year old daughter has a mood disorder, and has recently gotten in trouble at school, she has no friends and no self esteem either I just am at a loss what to do with her/for her! She starts middle school this fall so that is frightening to me! We are having financial trouble like crazy and it is stressing me out so bad, my husband doesnt seem bothered by it but he isnt one for showing much emotion either so who knows. I feel like I should get a job, but who is gonna hire me 5 months pregnant plus the cost of daycare is insane! Im fat and pregnant on top of it all. My 5 and 2 year old boys never take naps, just tear the house down from 12-4 and dont listen. Then they finally pass out at 4 and I have to wake them at 5 for dinner. AHHHH. Sorry just totally venting, I dont really know where to turn. And on top of it I feel like Ill never have a career, I have my BS in healthcare management and half done with masters in healthcare administration yet I can never find a decent job that pays enough or even get anyone to interview me for that matter. well kids are breaking something and killing each other so I better go.

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
I'm 22 weeks today, had my ob apt today with Dr Guckes. He was really nice, I really liked him! I refused to look at the scale when they weighed me, it sickens me. Blood pressure was fine, all my lab work from 12weeks came back fine and ultrasound for baby was completely normal. Baby's heartrate was 150 bpm. My uterus is measuring exactly 22cm , which is right on for 22 weeks. Next apt is June 20 with Dr Terry, and I have to go in June 16 for the glucose test yum yum! They gave me the drink already I picked fruit punch, so I have to drink that a half hour before my apt. The will do another ultrasound at 35 weeks to check the size of the baby as my last one was 9lbs 5oz and had should dystocia. If the baby gets 9lbs they wont let me deliver vaginally it will be a c section.
I am feeling swollen and my siatic nerve is killing me again. Everytime I pick up my two year old my back nearly gives out on me. My nasal swelling is somewhat better I can actually sleep at night now, although sometimes other things wake me up like back pain, limbs going numb or having to pee. My husband felt the baby move for the first time last week, he doesnt like to feel it too much it creeps him out, lol. Two more weeks until my apt at Johns Hopkins for the fetal study so I should get more ultrasound pics then! We are leaving tomorrow for Bush Gardens until monday so that will be a nice little vacation. Yes, my pregnancy is half over cant wait to have my body back and meet this little guy! And my husband might actually give in to the name Jaxson! woohoo. So its either Chayse or Jaxson.

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
Thought I might try to post a few photos, I have gained 45 lbs already and look gross! ITs all in my butt and thighs but here goes nothing! Ill be 23 weeks tomorrow, and actually this month has flown by, I cant believe its almost June already! wow. I cant wait till end of august though when I can really start thinking about having this baby and losing my weight! My arms and shoulders go numb while I sleep and my hips hurt during sleep too, I think because of my sciatic nerve issues. I need to control my eating, I just eat whenever and whatever which is getting worse! no wonder Im getting fatter. ugh.

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
23 weeks 6 days, I'll be 24 weeks tomorrow. The baby moves alot, he is mostly active at night hope that doesnt mean he'll have night and day confused when he's born! My nose is pretty much unclogged now but I do still have congestion and nose swelling Im sure thats just pregnancy though. My eyes are itching like crazy from allergies now, but Id rather have that than a clogged nose~ Still not sleeping too well, and my acid reflux has gotten worse. Dr called in nexium to go with zantac but insurance wont cover it so I have to see if they will call in prilosec. I feel on and off nauseous(sp?) the last three days I hope it isnt morning sickness ugh! It could be from my acid reflux though. My right breast got really sore like a clogged milk duct feeling, I think its from wearing underwire bras so I have to switch. I have a weird lump in my left leg by my shin, I want to see if its a blood clot or something its been there a week and a half. My back hurts upper and lower, cant stand for long or I start to feel pelvic pressure and I get worn out really quick. I get to go to my study visit next monday the 2nd so cant wait to get the 3D ultrasound! If I can Ill post the pics!

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
thanks, I dont feel to cute lol! Well I am 24 weeks 1 day today, last night I had to go to labor and delivery to be checked because I had contractions from 2pm- 5 and I arrived there at 5 30 and was still having them. I am a finger tip dialated and they monitored me for a few hours, I had to get two shots of terbutaline to stop the contractions and it worked! So I got to go home. I think the contractions finally stopped about 7pm. THey didnt put me on bed rest or any medications for now, just said to call or come in if anything comes up again. It was a little concerning that the baby's heart rate dropped with every contraction! but I guess that can be normal. So Im home now feeling better, and no contractions yet this morning which is good! Def dont want him trying to come this early!

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
I am 24 weeks 5 days today, went to my study visit at Johns Hopkins yesterday they didnt have the 3D ultrasound so that was a little disappointing. But I did get a lot of good pictures, he is breech with his butt down by my cervix. So hopefully he will flip! One of the ultrasound pictures looked like he was smiling! I have had one or two contractions since my hospital visit last thursday but nothing major which is good! Sunday my ankles and feet started getting bad swelling so now they are all swollen by the end of the day now, yuck! It looks like I dont even have ankles anymore. I have had a real energy loss the past week, really tired and have to force myself to clean and do things with the kids. Septemeber seems too far away, lol! My wish is to deliver at 38 weeks! lol if only we could put an order in for that!

Re: haleymarie's pregnancy journal
25 weeks 5 days, chugging along. I have gained about 45 or so lbs already and cant wait to deliver so I can lose it and have my body back! Wear all my cute clothes! My nose is still stuffy all the time, guess it will be until delivery but its not as bad as it was before. I have really bad swelling now, by the end of the day my feet, ankles and calves are swollen up to my knees very badly. It has been miserably hot here, 98 the last three days but 110 with the heat index! Very humid! I love hot weather but the humidity needs to go! My belly still doesnt seem that big or popped out, I can tell hes bigger though its getting harder to breathe. My acid reflux is getting worse, it bothers me even on the prilosec and zantac! Insurance wont pay for anything else, so Im screwed there. I have my glucose screening next monday and next fri 6/20 is my next dr apt Ill be 27 weeks. Ive only had a few random contractions, nothing major since the hospital trip so thats good!
Another name we came accross and like is Toren, My husband just wont agree on one though! He keeps trying to get me to name it after him, Johnny. But I want to pick my own names that I like, not the name his mom picked. So his choices are Jaxson, Chayse, Toren. I like some others too like Lycoln, Wyatt, Emerson but he seems to totally not like those at all. I hope we can agree on a name before he is born.
