Re: Does my diet sound good today?
I'd say you need more whole grains, and a LOT more protein. Also, the fruit and veggies you eat should be more varied. 4 servings of fruit is really good, but all the same kind will give you only the vitamins found in the oranges. Try apples and grapes, bananas are good too. It also sounds like a weight loss diet--I don't think you could be getting enough calories from just what you listed. You mentioned vegetarian lasagna, so I'm assuming you don't eat meat, but there are plenty of meat substitutes out there that have lots of protein.
Rice crispies and milk probably have about 300 calories at most, and that's if you eat twice the serving size. 4 mini oranges with a pint of milk, the oranges add up to probably 200 at most, the milk another 180. Lasagna and veggies wouldn't be more than 500. That's 1180: the minimum a woman needs, assuming her exercise level is zero, is 1200, and that's even extreme. A semi active woman, who's losing weight at a respectable rate, STARTS at 1600/day. It depends on your height, weight, and exercise level, but even if you're 5'0'' and 100 lbs you need way more than 1180 to maintain your weight. Planned weight loss during pregnancy is NEVER recommended, even if you're obese.
Add about 700 calories a day, and you'll be doing pretty well. Make sure to get enough protein, as your protein requirement is raised during pregnancy.
