Default Question

I'm hungry all the time so I eat whatever I can find, even chips, whatever the hell snacks my sister or bf has. Since I don't have a lot of money when I have to get my own food it's usally McDonalds or Taco Bell or something unhealthy like that. Does it matter how healthy the fued I'm eating is?

Yes, because EVERYTHING you put in your body is passed on to your baby.

Yes it does matter! I suppose that eating something is better than eating nothing, but you need to try to eat the healthiest stuff you can get into yourself. You can do this cheaper than going to get fast food. Go grab some eggs, yogurt, whole wheat bread, some milk and some fresh fruit- those are good cheap things to start with. You can even hit the food bank if you don't have that much money. You also need to get prenatal vitamins and take them everyday- this is especially important when your diet isn't the best. You can get them at any Walmart or Walgreens or anywhere for about $5-$7.

Please go to your health department. These people can help you apply for food stamps and WIC (as well as medicaid and housing assistance).

Check out some young mom's groups in your area they usually do a meal prep at them that is super cheap and pretty tasty. Also there is usually a nutritionist, dietitian or nurse available to speak with so you can get some info and resources from them. If you are feeling really nauseous get whatever you can hold down into because it's better than nothing. Really go check out a group though, you will get tons of info and meet some girls who are in the same situation as you!
