Here are some tips to help you in the kitchen:
» Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds before and after handling food and after using the bathroom, changing diapers and handling pets.
» Wash your cutting boards, dishes, utensils, and counter tops with hot soapy water after preparing each food item and before you go on to the next food.
» Be careful to keep all foods at the proper temperature at all times when feeding your baby.
» Avoid dented cans or jars that leak or don't 'pop' when you open them.
» Never thaw foods at room temperature.
» Avoid fish, meat and eggs that are not well refrigerated or kept on ice.
» Consider using paper towels to clean up kitchen surfaces. If you use cloth towels wash them often in the hot cycle of your washing machine.
» Do not freeze anything that has been defrosted reheat food only once.
» Wash raw vegetables thoroughly, as unwashed vegetables can harbor toxoplasmosis.
» Avoid the microwave when heating food for an infant.
Have a great day !
