Default Contraceptive Injection

Hi,

I wonder can you help me. My girlfriend and I are considering trying for a baby. In September 2006 she had a contraceptive injection. She can't remember the exact name of the injection. On the net the only info we can find is for the injection which protects against pregnancy for 12 weeks. However the injection my girlfriend had protects against pregnancy for 12-14 months. She received the injection in her arm (it wasn't the implant that protects for 3 years)

I was just wondering, would anyone be able to advise:

* the name of this injection
* the timespan involved before the injection wears off

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated

(BTW, we're in Ireland)

Sorry for threadcrapping, I was just wondering how the injection BC worked out for you guys. Were there any negative side effects on your partner? Did she completely lose periods? We are looking into choosing the right BC. Any inputs from you are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Would she be able to call her doctor and find out the name of the injection and find out if it is reversable?

I have no idea what the shot was. I have searched and aearched to try and figure it out for you, but I found nothing. Is she sure that she got the info right? I found a website that said the Depo-provera shot (which lasts 3 months) had most women getting pregnant within 12 - 14 months after quitting the shot. That is about all that I could find for you. I even searched specific to Ireland thinking maybe it was only available there. I suggest taht she call her doctor and figure it out.
