Default Could it be?

Hi ladies, I'm new to this forum. Wondering if anyone's been in this same situation. My husband and I are 35 years old and are trying to have our third child. I just went off the pill a couple months ago. I had my period right on time (28 days) last month, now I'm 10 days late and am getting pain in my breasts for a time each day. I've taken 3 tests, last one was Monday morning, all were negative. I'm never late with my period, so I'm a bit confused, frustrated, excited, etc. Do you think it's possible?

Well its hard to say, some women dont get a positive right away. If Im pregnant I do! Your cycle could just be messed up or changing around, or your body could be playing tricks on you because you want a baby so bad. I never believed it could happen until my body tricked me the month before I actually got pregnant this time. I had a bunch of symtoms and was even 10 days late for my period! We did get pregnant the following month. If your period doesnt come though , you should see if your dr can do a blood test.

Thank you haleymarie for your response. I've recently been scanning bunches of pregnancy forums. It seems pregnancy tests produce quite a few false negatives. Many women say they didn't receive a positive until they were several weeks along. I was really surprised to hear that. I'll just wait it out and see what happens. I'm already on the prenatal vitamins, eating right, etc. I've really been trying hard not to be too excited, just completely relaxed, so I don't mess up my cycle. I did have a clear discharge around the time I was supposed to get my period, not sure if that's a sign. We'll see............!

BC Pills can mess your cycles up a lot, including skipping some or have really short or really long cycles. It's a pain. But I hope that I'm not correct! Let us know how it goes.

????? Reference please? Birth control pills REGULATE your cycle that's why so many women and girls have their dr's put them on it because of such irregular cycles.

I think that she means is that when you come off the pill your cycles may be irregular- and you may have shorter, longer or even anovulatory cycles following being on the pill. That is why most doctors recommend being off the pill for 3 months or so, or until you begin to have regular cycles before trying to conceive.

When you come off the pill after being on it a while it your cycles can be really messed up. That's why so many women have a hard time conceiving after they stop them. Sometimes it can take a year or more to conceive depending on how long you've been on them.

I think everyone is different when it comes to this. I was on birth control for about 5 or 6 years (pill) and went off of it and my cycles went back to normal right away.

Well, 12 days late and 4 pregnancy tests later and my monthly friend just arrived. I went off the pill 6 years ago, my cycle didn't change and we became pregnant 2 months later. I did have 2 consecutive miscarriages before become pregnant with my youngest son. My period now seems to be out of whack, my cycle was 40 days this month. Another month to have fun trying!!!!! I can't feel too down, I did just go off the pill 2 months ago, maybe my body just needs time to readjust itself. Our strategy is to have sex every other day and focus more on enjoying each other than trying to conceive.
