Question Pregnancy after birth control??

My husband and I are trying to have another baby. Our first born is 4 yrs old now and I started birth control after I gave birth to her. I have recently stopped taking them (my last pill was on august 4th and my cycle started on august 8th, ended on august 13th)), in hopes to conceive soon. My husband bought an ovulation kit from excitement of having another baby and the last week of august is when it showed on the test that I was ovulating. I have recently took a pregnancy test and it shows negative, did I take it too early? If I actually did ovulate on Aug 25-26, would it still be possible that if the egg was fertilized, that it hasnt yet made its way into my uterus? Or with me being on BC pills, did the ovulation kit give me a false reading? I am not sure when my next cycle is to start because this cycle will be the first one in 4 yrs without being on birth control pills. I am estimating that my cycle SHOULD start no later than the end of next week. I have a gut feeling that there is still a possiblity of pregnancy, but I dont know if its just me being excited of the possiblity of having another baby.
Can anyone give me any insight to this? Our first child was not a planned pregnancy so I was not in tune with anything at that time. This one, being planned, I am new to it all.

I have heard that if you just got off the pill that ovulation kits may not work right. But i think your taking your test to early. Have you actually missed your period? If not just wait until you miss it and take another HPT. Good luck.

I am now spotting but very very faintly....it started yesterday morning with slight pink when i wiped...throughout the day it was a dark brownish color but very scanty....and the same thing as well today. Could this be implantation? I read that implantation can take 6-12 days after fertlization and it can last anywhere from 1-3 days. I dont have any other symptoms though (i.e. breast swollen, although slightly sensitive)--I am just not sure if this is from my body "thinking" my cycle should start from being on the pill ( yesterday is when i WOULD have started had i kept taking the pill) or if this could be more. I guess for right now I will just have to play the waiting game.

It could be implantaion bleeding. Not all women have implantation bleeding though. Or your period may be trying to come on. All i know is that when i went off bc pills my body was all wacky and my period did not come for 45 days. So your body may just be adjusting to having no bc pills? But of course you may be lucky and be pregnant. Good luck!
