Unhappy Too old to have a baby?

I am 36 and my Husband is 43. We have talked about having kids off and on since we got married. We had decided not to have kids and retire early and travel the world in a boat. And now I'm pregnant. We are fine financially but concerned with our age. Also this was not our plan. My husband has never been a fan of other peoples kids. Everyone has always said it would be different if it was our own. We are considering Terminating the Pregnancy. But having a hard time making the decision. We will be 54 and 61 when he/she graduates high school. Anyone have any input?

Thanks Kelly

36 is nothing. Older women are having babies all the time. Sometimes the best things that happen to us are the ones we didn't plan for.

I have three girlfriends that gave birth all over the age of 38 and their babies are wonderful and doing great! My mother had her last two at 36 and 38 and I'd be lost without my two younger sisters!

i'm the eldest of 4, and my mom was 38 when she had my youngest sister. she was a surprise concieved at a very rough time financially in our family.

my sister is now 15 (my mom is 53) and my mom confided in me a few years ago that she still feels guilty sometimes for considering an abortion at the time. but she's grateful all the time that she made the right decision.

only you can decide what is best for you. but you might be surprised at what you're capable of.

I'm 39 and pregnant with my third. My husband is 33 and this will also be his third (he has two from a previous relationship) child. You are definitely not too old to have a baby. Women in their 50's are having babies. That personally isn't for me but they do it. My oldest will be 21 in December and she is also pregnant. I will be a grandmother about three weeks after I become a mom again. This baby was very much planned though so I can understand how you're feeling since the baby isn't something you were expecting.

Moms are definitely becoming older as it seems.....

But please don't forget that adoption is an option.

How far along are you?

As you know, it WILL change your life FOREVER... and you may not get to experience your dream.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

I don't think you guys are too old at all! A lot of people have babies at your ages! And its true, when your husband see's this baby for the first time he will totally be in love! When its your own its just different! you guys have to make the decision that is best for you, but your married and financially secure so I think you should keep the baby, you will be pleasantly suprised with such a cute bundle of joy in 9 months! Good luck with whatever you decide

Other peoples kids annoy me too!

But when you have your own kid, you will love it. They will amaze you over and over again.

At 4 and 5 weeks along, your baby already has a brain and is working on a little tiny heart. Give it a chance! At the worst, consider adoption.

My sister had an abortion and it has traumatized her for life. She still cry's over it and it was almost 5 years ago.

You will not be the same if you terminate your pregnancy.

Now that you are a little older, you are just that much more prepared to care for a child and offer him or her stellar advice and great opportunities.

Good luck!

My fiance is 23, his dad is 82 and his mom is in her mid-late 60s.

You will be just fine.
